The Jørgen Skogmo – Jens Franke Guitar Duo, Jørgen’s musical partnership with Jens Franke, has given a shared recital with guitarist Carlos Bonell, and performed throughout the UK, Norway, Spain and Germany, including concerts at the Festival de Torroella de Montgri and Festival Internacional de Guitarra L’Hospitalet de l’Infant. The duo primarily concentrate on virtuoso 19th Century music and their active concert repertoire includes several transcriptions by Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829) of orchestral works. They have recorded the complete ensemble works of Antoine de Lhoyer (Naxos).
Together with Erik Skanke Høsøien, Jørgen established The Skogmo – Høsøien guitar and lute duo in 2015. Since then they have been invited to perform at music festivals throughout Norway and in international venues such as the Barbican, London, and in Hallein, Austria. They play different types of lutes and guitars, such as renaissance lute, theorbo, archlute, baroque guitar and romantic guitar. The duo’s repertoire is mainly from the 17th and 18th Centuries and includes works by composers such as Vivaldi, Kapsberger and Piccinini.
